yoga for wholeheartedness brene brown

10 week session | Sundays 7-9pm

June 5 – Aug 28, 2016

In our busy, achievement-praised lives, we run into daily messages of scarcity, shame and feeling “not good enough”.

“I don’t have enough time… I shouldn’t have said that… I need to be different…”

These messages can invoke a debilitating sense of fear that often drives perfectionism and interferes with our potential for authenticity.

Yoga for Wholeheartedness is a 10-week registered session developed with the intention of cultivating a community to support one another while learning to embrace vulnerability and live wholeheartedly.  This series incorporates yoga and mindfulness with Brené Brown’s groundbreaking work on courage, compassion, connection and being enough.

Words of feedback from Diane’s previous students:

“The setting is beautiful and Diane sets a really lovely tone to the evening and the discussion.  I appreciate her use of self-disclosure to encourage students to allow themselves to be vulnerable, and the exercises and questions when we work in small groups are poignant and eye-opening.”

“I loved the workshop and spending time with a wonderful group of brave women. It has taken me back to import parts of myself that seemed to have been brushed under the carpet. It pushed me to do things and I continue to do things that involve being brave and compassionate with myself.”

“The greatest thing I took away from the experience was to allow time for myself now and not feel guilty about it. I was able to learn about myself and how I can always improve in some way. I think this course is a good way to practice the challenge of true non-judgement.”

“I really enjoy the open discussions; they allow me to hear other’s opinions and see things in a different way that I may not have thought of before…”

“Diane is a great yoga teacher; her voice is very relaxing and calming”

“I love our open-hearted discussions. I love that we are gathering in this way and being open to look into some huge topics. The course is wonderful!”

“Diane’s asana practice is beautiful and inspiring”

Diane Liska, H.B.Sc., MACP, CYT Diane was first introduced to yoga in 2011 and immediately fell in love.  With a passionate spirit, she soon immersed herself in as many yoga classes, discussions and readings as possible.  She recently graduated from DevaTree’s 200-hour teacher training in Cross-Disciplinary yoga. Diane views the physical practice of yoga as a beautiful dance that nurtures the mind-body connection.

As a therapist in the mental health field, Diane is continuously inspired by the healing properties of yoga and especially excited about current research on the neuropsychology of mindfulness meditation practices.   Diane believes that yoga cultivates presence, authenticity and non-judgment of the self and of others.  She values her personal practice as essential to her own healthy living, preserving her capacity to continue to help others.
