This one-of-a-kind workshop is a great opportunity for you to have a truly invigorating and rejuvenating experience! You will learn / review the basics of proper breathing. Pranayama is one of the aspects of Yoga. Its definition includes proper breathing, breathing exercises, control of breathing, and control of Prana (life force or vital energy). When practiced regularly, it greatly enhances our energy and detoxifies our body.
In this workshop, you will:
- learn and practice various pranayama techniques including Dirgha, Bhastrika, kapalabhati, Ujjayi, Anuloma Viloma, Nadishodhan, shitali Bhramari, and Shitkari pranayamas;
- practice the integration of pranayama within a complete asana series, followed by your choice of either meditation or relaxation;
- learn how to apply Bandhas in pranayama.
Each participant will receive personal attention and a detailed, illustrated handout to bring home for future reference.
Level: This workshop is open to students of yoga who have had an established, regular practice for at least three months.
Instructor: Kalpana Panditrao
Kalpana has been teaching yoga since 1996. She has taught yoga in India, Bahrain, Muscat and Canada. Born and brought up in India, Kalpana has been practicing yoga since childhood and received her basic yoga training from India and Kripalu center at Lenox. Pranayama practice is her passion. Her classes include in-depth knowledge of asanas, pranayama, meditation and yogic philosophy.
