In this three-part workshop, award winning choreographer, performer and instructor May Ip will take you on a dance journey through the Balkans, Eastern and Western Europe, and Israel. Come immerse yourself in enchanting ethnic music and feel connected with Mother Earth and all that is embraced by her.

About May Ip:
Born and raised in Hong Kong, May Ip was introduced to international folk dance at age 10 and fell in love with it instantly. As a youth, she has participated in folk dance festivals and won numerous awards. Her passion in dance has lead her to also study modern ballet and Jazz. May has performed with elite companies including Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Inspired Dance Company and Owen Sound Little Theatre.
A resident of Grey-Bruce Ontario, Canada since 1995, May currently lives in Owen Sound with her husband and 3 children. She has founded Grey Bruce International Folk Dancers; she works with GBIFD core group, developing leadership and instructor skills in each individual enabling the group to facilitate folk dance workshops and events. She has led workshop for Ignite! Youth Arts Festival, been instructing classes in elementary schools and at Family Y, and working with Sandcastle Theatre as music director and choreographer. Her goal is to help build a healthy community through promoting international folk dance among all ages.
