Aniya means creative. This three part workshop aims at bringing the creative spirit to your asana practice. The goal is to solidify the intention of movement in your practice. We will do this by asking first and foremost what does this posture mean and why do I do it? We will look for answers in the physical body and the energetic body, as well the spiritual and historical context of the posture. In this class we will chant Kirtan songs, hear stories of the traditional yogi gods and goddesses while moving our bodies in an Asana practice.

With a creative spirit our intention is to consolidate all this information with one’s own personal needs, creating a practice that is unique to you – leading us to the “Big” question – Who am I? What does my practice mean to me?
